Northeast Ohio Garden Centers and Nurseries

Gilson Gardens in Perry, Ohio

Early each summer gardeners visit northeast Ohio for the annual Passport2Plants, a unique garden oriented event sponsored by the Perry Madison Green Industries (PMGI). The event appeals to gardeners who want to shop a variety of nurseries and garden centers to fill their summer landscapes while saving money and maybe even win some prizes. The event, held June 2 & 3 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., is sponsored by four area garden centers in the once famous nursery capital of the world: Middle Ridge Gardens, Martin’s Garden Center, Sabo’s Woodside Nursery & Garden Center and Gilson Gardens. These family-owned and operated garden centers have partnered in this event to attract garden enthusiasts to eastern Lake County.

How it Works
Visitors get a Free Passport that will be stamped at each location to earn prizes. After collecting all four stamps on the Passport, the participant receives a Golden Ticket for a chance to win the grand prize, $400 in gift certificates – $100 from each garden center! If luck isn’t always on your side, $50 raffles will also be held at each garden center to increase your chances of a prize!

New this year is the Green Card! The Green Card has a $50 value and can be purchased for $20 (like a Groupon deal). The card offers shoppers valuable coupons for each garden center and is used in conjunction with the Passport for extra savings!

Garden staff will work with shoppers to help with landscape ideas and questions. And don’t forget to pick up a complimentary Garden Design sheet for inspiration. Finally, ask about the ‘Buck a Basket’ program.

Visit passport2plants.com for more information on this event or to get more information about the participating nurseries.
